    Joiners in Pollokshaws

Kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and renovations for Pollokshaws — an old burgh with a mix of surviving tenements, post-war housing and new developments beside Pollok Country Park.

    Joinery Across Pollokshaws

Pollokshaws was a town in its own right long before Glasgow absorbed it, and the older core around the Burgh Hall still shows it. Much of the area was redeveloped after the war, and it has been redeveloped again since, so the housing today is a genuine mix: a few surviving sandstone tenements, mid-century flats and houses, and a substantial amount of recent new build, all with Pollok Country Park and the White Cart on the doorstep.

That variety means the work we do in Pollokshaws varies too. In the older tenements it is the familiar business of re-planning kitchens and bathrooms around walls that are not square. In the post-war stock it is straightforward replacement of dated fit-outs. In the newer developments it is upgrading developer kitchens and bathrooms and adding the storage that was never provided.

Pollokshaws is well connected — two railway stations and good roads — and easy for us to reach from the north-west. We quote everything free.

Homes We Work On in Pollokshaws

Few parts of the Southside have this range of house types in such a small area.

    Surviving Sandstone Tenements

The remaining Victorian blocks around the old burgh. Good rooms, high ceilings, and kitchens and bathrooms that need re-planning. Standard tenement logistics apply.

    Post-War Flats & Houses

1950s–70s housing from the first redevelopment. Simple layouts and easy access; kitchen and bathroom replacement and new flooring are the usual jobs.

    Recent New-Build Developments

Modern houses and flats from the more recent regeneration. Developer kitchens and bathrooms fitted to a budget, and little built-in storage — both easy wins.

    Older Houses Towards the Park

Some larger and older properties on the streets towards Pollok Park and Newlands, with more scope for whole-house renovation.

    Working in Pollokshaws

    • Access varies by street: the newer developments have parking and easy access, the older tenements have walk-up closes and tight parking. We plan for each.
    • New-build estates are often factored, with rules about external appearance. Internal joinery is unaffected.
    • Some post-war flats have concrete floors, which affects how flooring and any new services are installed; we check on the survey.
    • Pollokshaws is around half an hour from our base and squarely within our Southside coverage.

    Pollokshaws Joinery FAQs

Do you work in the new-build developments in Pollokshaws?

Yes. Replacing developer kitchens and bathrooms and adding fitted wardrobes and storage is common work in the newer estates.

Can you fit a kitchen in one of the older tenements?

Yes. It is standard tenement work for us — re-planning the room, scribing units to the walls, and planning the carry up the close.

Do you lay flooring over concrete floors?

Yes. Concrete sub-floors need moisture checking and often levelling before LVT or engineered wood goes down; we include that in the job.

Do you cover Newlands and Auldhouse as well?

Yes — Pollokshaws, Newlands, Auldhouse, Mansewood and across to Shawlands and Pollokshields are all within our Southside coverage.

    Is quoting free?

Yes. We come out, look at the property and give you a written price.
